Julie Johnson

Julie is a writer and editor with a background in biological sciences, who specializes in academic manuscripts. Her circuitous career begins with a Ph.D. in zoology, focused on baboon social behavior; followed by stints with the U.S. government and Duke University studying environmental health and tropical conservation; and years as an editor and writer in the field of craft beer. The common elements throughout have been the importance of scientific literacy and the need, particularly for scientists, to communicate clearly. She has worked on nearly twenty different projects for Catalyst since 2015.
