Keshia Martin
Have you ever met that person who, after watching one episode of a historical series, will pause the television and enter a rabbit hole because they must have all the details on what really happened? Well, that’s me. My love for research and desire to have all the facts led me to join Catalyst Consulting Group in 2018 as a researcher and evaluator.
As part of the Catalyst team, I draw from my experience with planning and delivering programs for college students, and my training in program evaluation, to develop evaluation questions and plans that serve to not only answer the “what” but also the “why” and “how”. In addition, I have always had an interest in supporting diversity and equity initiatives, which often leads me to focus my work on programs and research methods that center equity and broadening participation within STEM programs.
Recently, I have been exploring the use of design thinking and human-centered research approaches in program evaluation as I’ve been supporting more projects that focus on strategic planning and evaluation capacity building. My favorite thing about these approaches is their use of empathy to center the experience of program participants.
